Cyprus was one of the first countries in the Mediterranean region that grafted plants were introduced and Solomou nurseries were the first to start trials with grafting of watermelon on the island.
With the pioneering work of Dr Dinos Poullis, a renowned horticulturist in Cyprus, the first trials were done at the premises of Solomou Nurseries.
Nowdays the range of grafted plants includes watermelon, melon, cucumber, tomato, aubergine and peppers.
The methodology of grafting is evolving continuously with solomou nurseries always setting the standards for quality and plant presentation.
